In 1960, I was born in San Jose, California, and moved to Roseburg in 1964.  After graduating from Roseburg High School, I attended Umpqua Community College and then Oregon State University, graduating with a degree in Finance and a minor in Agriculture.

In 1987, my brother Pat and I bought Umpqua Sand & Gravel from our father Frank Guido.  Pat retired in 2007 and my wife Mona and I purchased his share of the company.  In 2012 we started Umpqua Quarries at the Ziegler Quarry in Lookingglass and in February of 2016, we added the Beckley Quarry in Wilbur.

We have 2 sons Wesley (Jessica) and Brant (Katie), and four beautiful grand-daughters, and our newest addition in 2017, a grandson .  Both of our son’s work for the company and hope to continue the tradition.
