Mike was born is Roseburg, 1951. He graduated Roseburg High School, 1969. He then attended Oregon State University, 1969-1975. Mike graduated OSU 1975, with a degree in Forest Engineering. He married his wife Selina soon after in 1976.

Mike has worked for 4 different companies, in the forestry, logging and road construction fields from 1970-1983.
Mike is currently self-employed, 1984- Present. He does forestry, timber access roads, trail construction, logging, various construction projects, mostly involving excavation and grading.
Mike purchased Wildwood Nursery 2011. Retail sale of plants, most of which are propagated or started from seed.
Mike continues his construction business and operates the nursery meanwhile happily married for 42 years. He and his wife have one daughter and 2 grandsons.
They reside in the Dixonville area on forested acreage, they have been there for 30 years.
