Walt Gayner has a degree in Biological Systems Engineering from UC Davis. He worked as a research engineer for UC Davis in their Biological Systems and Agricultural Engineering Department. Worked for various "middle management" positions and was a district manager of a soil and water conservation district for 6 years. Walt is a licensed principal broker and operates a small real estate office. His wife is a wildlife biologist for the BLM and they raise livestock on a "hobby" level farm, including cattle, meat goats, wool sheep, horses, and laying hens. They have a son, who is currently 14. Walt is involved in other volunteer boards including the Douglas County Livestock Association and the Realtors' Exchange Club of Roseburg.
